Chris Cornell (rođen kao Christopher John Boyle, 20. lipnja 1964. godine) američki je glazbenik ponajviše poznat kao glavni pjevač, gitarist i tekstopisac rock bendova Soundgardena (1984. – 1997.) i Audioslavea (2001. – 2007.). On je bio osnivač i prednjak Temple of the Dog, jednog od prvih priznatih bendova posvećenih njegovom bivšem cimeru, Andrewu Woodu. Izdao je tri samostalna albuma, Euphoria Morning, Carry On i Scream.
Cornell je rođen i odrastao u Seattlu, Washington, a pohađao je Shorewood High School. Njegovi roditelji Ed Boyle (farmaceut irsko-katoličkog podrijetla) i Karen Cornell (računovotkinja židovskog podrijetla). On ima dva starija brata, Petera i Patricka, te tri mlađe sestre, Katy, Suzy i Maggie. Peter, Katy i Suzy osnovali su bend Inflatable Soule, umjereno popularan bend u Seattlu tijekom devedesetih. Peter Cornell je sada u bendu Black Market Radio, koji je izdao svoj debi album naslovljen Suicide Parlour 2006. Cornell i njegova braća i sestre uzeli su majčino djevojačko prezime nakon što su se njihovi roditelji rastali.
Cornellovo spominjanje u dokumentarcu Audioslave – Live in Cuba DVD, da je on proveo dvogodišnji period između devete i jedanaeste godine čvrsto slušajući The Beatlese nakon pronazaženja velike kolekcije Beatlsovih ploča napuštenih u podrumu kuće. On je tada patio od nekoliko slučaja kliničke depresije tjekom tinejdžerskih godina, rijetko napuštajući kuću. U jednoj točki, proveo je cijelu godinu svoga života bez izlaženja iz kuće, tjekom čega je vrijeme provodio pijući, te svirajući bubnjeve i gitaru. Prije nego što je postao uspješan glazbenik, radio je kao podavač morske hrane na veliko i suupravitelj restorana koji se zvao Ray's Boathouse.
Trenutno je oženjen za Vicky Karayiannis, novinarku baziranu na Pariz, a prije je bio oženjen za Susan Silver, menadžericu Alice in Chainsa i Soundgardena. Imao je kćer sa Silver, Lillian Jean u lipnju 2000. On i Silver rastali su se 2001. godine, a on se ponovno vjenčao 2004. s Karayiannis. On je rodila njegovu drugu kćer, Toni, u rujnu 2004., i njihovo drugo djete, tj. njegovo treće, Christopher Nicholasa, u prosincu 2005. godine.Chris Cornell je surađivao sa skladateljem Davidom Arnoldom na pjesmi "You Know My Name", koju Cornell izvodi za naslovnu pjesmu filma o Jamesu Bondu, Casino Royale. Pjesma "You Know My Name" je prva naslovna pjesma od filma Octopussy iz 1983. godine, da se koristi drugačiji naslov pjesme od filma, prva pjesma koju je otpjevao muški Amerikanac, te prva naslovna pjesma koja se ujedno nije pojavila na soundtrack albumu.
Svoj drugi samostalni album, Carry On, izdao je 5. lipnja 2007. godine. Album je debitirao na sedamnaestom mjestu američke ljestvice Billboard. Iste godine Cornell se pojavio kao potpora Aerosmithu na njihovoj turneji Aerosmith World Tour 2007.
Na svom zadnjem albumu Scream surađivao je sa megapopularnim producentom Timbalandom. Album je izdan 10. ožujka 2009. godine u Timbalandovoj producentskoj kući Mosley Music Group. Timbaland je to snimanje opisao kao "najbolji uradak koji je napravio u svojoj karijeri" dok je Chris Cornell album nazvao "vrhuncem svoje karijere". Međutim, album je u velikoj mjeri pokopala kritika. Singlovi s tog albuma su "Long Gone", "Watch Out", "Ground Zero", "Scream" i "Part of Me".

ovo je meni pretesko pitanje..nemogu izdvojit nikoga ..

omiljena pjesma zavisi od raspolozenja i od dana kakav je i tako to
barem je za mene tako

ali u poslednje vrijeme sam poceo nenormalno da volim ovu pjesmu
